Songs I'm Listening To Right Now

K-pop songs I cannot stop listening to right now, no matter how many times I play them.

1. "The Truth Untold" by BTS (feat. Steve Aoki)
Delivering an emotional ballad from BTS's unique vocalists, "The Truth Untold" is the group's third studio album Love Yourself: Tear's strongest moment. The emotional vulnerability and the rawness delivered by BTS's singers Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook is profound and truly transcends language barriers. It's a triumph of a song.

2. "Star Blossom" by Doyoung (NCT) and Sejeong (gugudan)
This underrated SM Station song from NCT 127 (and U)'s main vocalist Doyoung and former I.O.I member Sejeong (and current member of gugudan) is probably the most refreshing, heavenly, relaxing song I've recently stumbled upon. It's the sort of song that wraps you in a warm hug, and Doyoung's and Sejeong's voices blend beautifully together. When they harmonize, you literally feel like you're ascending. And best of all, the production reminds me of La La Land. It's that good.

3. “Baby Don’t Stop” by NCT U
Maybe I just like the simpler things in life when it comes to music. It’s a breath of fresh air to just let Taeyong and Ten, NCT’s best dancers by a long-shot, have a chance to let loose. The result is magic, with an impassioned, whispered chorus, surprisingly strong vocals from both Ten and Taeyong, and Taeyong’s signature deep, raspy rap. The choreography is obviously superb (this is an S.M. group, after all), serving as an extension of this excellent track off of NCT 2018 Empathy. This song is literally one of my favorite K-pop songs of all time. I fall in love with it even more with every listen (and I listen to this song at least five times a day).

4. "Shine" by Pentagon
I recently got into Pentagon's discography and boy have I been missing out. Their recent comeback song "Shine" is addictive, goofy fun. The group really goes all in with their silly, uncool concept that makes the song and choreography such a joy to watch. The song is relentless, backed by a somewhat sparse production that boosts the unique voices of the group. It's hard to explain why I love it, but it's really good. It's almost magic in a bottle.
